Although True Potential were able to move to complete remote working virtually overnight when the pandemic first hit in 2020, they wanted to identify what their employees wanted from office work in a post-pandemic world, as well as their ideal balance between remote and office-based work.

Some of the key findings from the employee research made it clear that in-person opportunities for learning and collaboration and off-the-cuff conversations and friendships that working in an office bring cannot be replaced by a video call.

The over-arching brief was to create a place where visitors and staff can reconnect with each other and the company.

Whilst still being a professional environment, the use of a more domestic approach in the variety of seating and work-stations, as well as larger kitchens on all three floors, fosters a communal feeling with added comfort.

The emphasis for reception and lounge facilities shifted from a hospitality based design to more expo style, with the introduction of backlit display walls, extended work and display benches, a large format video wall and video production studio.

Connecting with the outside, if possible, is important for staff wellbeing and became a key feature in this project.

A full remodel of the interior was required to open up the floors as much as possible for ventilation and to maximise access to the outdoors.
